Refreshingly free of self-absorption and pretense, Action Bronson makes stupidly fun retro-rap with what is fast becoming one of the most creative approaches in the game. His high-pitched, smooth NYC flow – politely – isn’t a million miles from Ghostface Killah and sits over harmless good-time beats heavy on jazz loops, breakbeat samples and witty one-liners. He does it very, very well, with all the loveable perma-delight of a kid in the world’s biggest candy store.
