Got a tune worthy of the big stage? What a coincidence: Intel Canada Superstars wants to put you (and all your other songs) in the spotlight. You may remember the Intel Superstar stage at YDS from 2012 when a couple of guys named Raekwon and Ghostface Killah performed. Well in the pursuit of supporting Canadian creativity, Intel wants to tech you out. Because even rock stars need help and free stuff sometimes.

HOW IT WORKS (in detailed glory):
Step 1: You upload an original song
- No covers or copyrighted material + keep it clean (aka “radio friendly”)
- Longer than 30 seconds, shorter than 15 minutes (sorry, epic symphony writers)
Step 2: Put the song in one of the seven appropriate categories
- Country; Electronica; Francophone; Pop; Rock; Singer/Songwriter; Urban
- Deadline: August 25
Step 3: Get your fans to vote
Step 4: Judges choose the grand prize winner

How the voting works…
Round 1: Get your fans to vote (+ they’ve got a shot at prizes too)
- Convince them with a well-worded Tweet or a box of adorable puppies. Up to you
- Top 40 in each category move to Round 2
- Deadline: August 31
Round 2: More fan voting
- Keep your fans voting as the list narrows from top 40 to top 20 in each category
- Runs: September 1 to September 14
Round 3: Final fan votes
- Top 20 in each category narrowed to top 20 overall
- #1 vote-getter in each category walks away with their arms loaded in gear (see below)
- Runs: September 14 to September 30
Round 4: Judgment day (*not as ominous as it sounds)
- A panel of judges will pick the grand prize winner based on: presentation; originality + creativity; music + melody + vocal ability; lyrics; entertainment value
