It’s the season of giving and, what a coincidence, NXNE alumn Jay Kana has teamed up with some musical friends for the Jay Kana Collective 2012 Xmas album. Inspired by the Amanda Todd bullying tragedy, the result is a 13-song album which is available for free on Kana’s website.
In exchange for the complimentary songs, Kana’s asking for donations to Kids Help Phone. The goal is to raise as much money as possible before December 24. It’s a pretty good deal if you ask us – you get great music and a good deed under your belt. We hear Santa keeps track of that sort of thing.
From Kana’s website:
There is absolutely no obligation to donate; I’m merely suggesting it.Kids Help Phone is a valuable, anonymous, confidential and free resource for kids and teens to talk about anything with a professional counsellor – 7 days a week, 24 hours a day 365 days a year. To learn more, please visit www.kidshelpphone.ca. Kids Help Phone helped me when I was young and I will always be grateful for that public resource.
If you DO decide to donate, the one request I have is that you include “Jay Kana Collective 2012 Xmas album” in the Additional Comments section of the Kids Help Phone site, so that the contributing artists know that their talents and efforts have been recognized. Any amount will be incredibly appreciated, even a dollar. Please share this with your friends, family and colleagues. Let’s raise as much money for the Kids Help Phone as we can, and ensure that what these wonderful musicians have created reaches as many ears as possible.
