Despite releasing just four studio albums, alt-rock mainstay Mays has had a hugely varied and acclaimed career to date. After his early days as a member of the seminal ‘alt-country’ group The Guthries he kicked off his solo career with a well received debut record, before fronting the Matt Mays & El Torpedo group, producing the music for the When the Angels Make Contact film, and finally back to an airplay friendly El Torpedo record. He’s now back in solo mode now, working on material when not on the road with a new band performing material from all four albums.
