On Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, Toronto’s Sound Academy will again be rocking care of 102.1 The Edge + The CASBY Awards. In addition to the lucky bands taking home the hardware, expect performances from Big Wreck, I Mother Earth, Monster Truck, Young Empires, and Yukon Blonde.
NXNE is happy to once again be a part of this year’s event, presenting the NXNE Favourite New Indie Release. Whatever act wins will be in good company. Last year, The Sheepdogs – pictured above – took home the prize for Learn & Burn. Some of the other past winners include Tokyo Police Club, Metric (nominated again this year), City & Colour, Attack In Black, and Alexisonfire.
This year features stiff competition in the category with Monster Truck, Japandroids, Metric, Yukon Blonde, and The Pack A.D. in the running.
