NXNE is going on a Field Trip

Field Trip Music & Arts Festival
Saturday, June 8 @ 12 pm
Fort York and Garrison Common

Toronto’s music scene owes a heckuva lot to Arts & Crafts. The label – home to NXNE alumn such as Dan Mangan, Eight and a Half, Feist, and Jason Collett – is celebrating its 10th year and, lucky for all of us, we’re part of the party.

Starting on the NXNE premiere weekend, Arts & Crafts will be hosting a slew of can’t-miss events, including the inaugural Field Trip Music & Arts Festival - two stages filled with the Arts & Crafts’ artist roster.

Clear your schedules now because yes, this means Broken Social Scene will be there for a one-night-only return from hiatus. They’ll be joined by 2012 Polaris Prize winner Feist. If (for some strange reason) those headliners weren’t enough, the lineup features Bloc Party, Stars, Dan Mangan, Timber Timbre, Hayden, Cold Specks, Ra Ra Riot, Trust, The Darcys, Jason Collett, Zeus, Gold & Youth, Still Life Still, + more.

To celebrate this event, NXNE and Arts & Crafts will offer a bundle package: one ticket to Field Trip plus an NXNE Full Festival wristband for $119. The NXNE and Arts & Crafts bundle will be available February 1 at www.nxne.com/tickets.

Arts & Crafts will also be releasing more details on their 10th anniversary events. Below is a selection of just a few of the things to look forward to:

Arts & Crafts // 2003-2012
A deluxe package curated from a decade of releases including some of the label’s most recognizable hits as well as never before heard rarities and b-sides. This commemorative release will be available as a 4xLP special edition vinyl boxed set, deluxe double CD and in all digital formats.

Arts & Crafts // X
An entirely original collection of collaborative recordings by artist pairings from the Arts & Crafts roster, including new compositions and fresh, unexpected interpretations.

A&C x Norman Wong
A special photography exhibit by Toronto-based fashion and celebrity photographer Norman Wong. A longtime friend of Arts & Crafts, Norman has had a unique opportunity to document and work with a range of A&C artists. Norman will be exhibiting an iconic black and white portrait series featuring prominent members of the Arts & Crafts roster, as well as a photographic A&C retrospective.

A&C x Jeremy Laing // Fashion Collaborations
Prominent Canadian designer Jeremy Laing  will team up with contemporary Canadian visual artists and select musicians from the A&C roster to create a unique t-shirt series with all proceeds donated to AC10 charity MusiCounts. MusiCounts is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that all Canadian children have access to music education.

A&C x House of Anansi // You Forgot It In People // Short Fiction Contest
Famed Canadian publisher House of Anansi Press partners with A&C to host a short fiction contest inspired by the tracks of Broken Social Scene’s You Forgot It In People.

A&C x Gallery Exhibition x Pop Up
Arts & Crafts will host up a pop-up shop / gallery exhibition from late May through mid June. The to-be-announced location will serve as headquarters for all things AC10 and Field Trip.
