NXNE Music: Second Wave

We’ve announced our first wave of bands, but how about that part two? Well, the wait’s over. Announcing NXNE 2013’s second wave:

We’re also bringing in YDS + club shows from…

  • Toronto hardcore favourites Fucked Up (whose Long Winter will hopefully be over by June)
  • Chanteuse talentueuse Coeur De Pirate
  • Hip hop Brooklyn duo Smif N’ Wessun
  • Swedish skaters Millencolin
  • Genre-crossing WHY?
  • California five-piece The Soft Moon
  • West Coast melodic punks White Lung
  • Hardworking indie hometowners DIANA
  • B.C. garage punks  Sensae
  • Loud, reckless noise-punk rockers Destruction Unit
  • Synth popsters Majical Cloudz
  • Copenhagen punks Lower
  • Eclectic electro rock from Moon King
  • Improv jazz out of Lean Left
  • Indie rockers Blinker the Star, performing for the first time in 10 years

They’ll join the likes of The National, Joey Bada$$, Merchandise, Iceage, Mikal Cronin, Milk Music, Buke & Gase, Mickey Avalon, Supersuckers, Imperial State Electric, and Genetic Control. For a full list of announced artists + links, head to www.nxne.com/artists. And yes, there’s also lots more to come.

Also – don’t forget to get your tickets to the NXNE Spotlight Series before it’s too late for performances by FLAG (with original members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Bill Stevenson, Dez Cadena with Stephen Egerton performing The Music of Black Flag,) and Calexico. Hard tickets to these shows are the only way to guarantee admission.

NXNE 2013 runs June 10-16 in Toronto. Stay tuned for more artists and scheduling details. Passes, wristbands, and tickets are available at www.nxne.com/tickets.
