Put on the popcorn – NXNE Film has big news on an exciting partnership with the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema.
The NXNE Film Festival runs June 13-16 and will feature galas, screenings, and events with filmmakers and celebrity presenters. The venue – just east of Bloor + Bathurst – will be the signature location for the 2013 NXNE Film Festival. We’re partnering up with Hot Docs for an exciting program of 30 music-related films. Whether its concert classics, indie docs, a feature, or a short you’re looking for – we’ll provide any movie-lover with plenty to see.
It’s not just Film that’s getting the love, either. We’re happy to announce we’ll be adding NXNE Art as an official stream, joining Music, Film, Interactive, and Comedy. Kate Hollett, director of NXNE Art and an acclaimed Berlin-based Canadian multimedia artist, confirms the Art Gallery of Ontario and The Cameron House will serve as exhibition venues. Fest-goers can also see art in galleries and at non-traditional spaces during daytime and late-night events.
And pack a picnic. As previously announced, NXNE has teamed up with Arts & Crafts for their 10th anniversary event. The Arts & Crafts Field Trip is an NXNE Premiere Weekend Event – a one-day music and arts festival on Sunday, June 8 at Fort York and Garrison Common. Bands on the labels’ roster, including headline performances from Broken Social Scene and Feist, will perform.
To celebrate Field Trip, NXNE and Arts & Crafts offer a bundle package. That’s one ticket to Field Trip PLUS an NXNE Festival wristband for $119. This goes on sale February 1 at www.nxne.com/tickets.
Perhaps most importantly: your ticket in. NXNE Festival passes and wristbands are all on sale now. Look forward to 950 bands, 30 Films, 80 Interactive sessions, 75 Comedians, and Art installations – all over the course of seven sleepless days. Head here to purchase, then start counting the days until June 10.
