Yonge Dundas Square has been a landmark NXNE destination for years. And this year we mixed it up, in addition to free live music we hosted live video gaming on the bigs screen and dozens of games, new and old, throughout the Square as well as a film.
We kicked it all off Thursday night with an a capella contest hosted by Pitch Perfect cast members Anna Camp and Skylar Austin as well as NXNE prez Michael Hollett who was NOT in Pitch Perfect. And then we screened the film to a packed house.
Game Landers got to play Loud on Planet X, the perfect NXNE game because it mixes top Canadian bands with Aliens. Hell, poor Lights comes under attack at an NXNE showcase at the Horseshoe Tavern. Spoiler alert, she kicks Alien ass with the help of super charged monitors, guitars and more.
And as always NXNE made sure there was plenty of great live music at Yonge Dundas Square.
The great live music lineup included: Fast Romantics, Jane’s Party, Zeus, The Lionyls, Ferraro, Sam Cash and the Romantic Dogs, Sydney Delong, Long Range Hustle, Frisky Kids, No King for Countrymen and Hungry Lake. And everything at NXNE Game Land was free, free, free.
Look for NXNE Game Land at Yonge Dundas Square to grow in 2017 after the great response to this new initiative this year. Are you game?
