NXNE has added an exciting element to the Music, Film and Interactive components of the festival: the 3-day NX Lounge. Transforming the Hyatt Regency Toronto, NX Lounge is a one-of-a-kind festival headquarter complete with live music and interviews at the NX Lounge Stage, contests and a spectacular range of music, film and lifestyle exhibitors.
NX Lounge is your chance to connect with performers, industry professionals, media and fans. The Hyatt Regency Toronto is NXNE’s official home base during the festival – and it’s the ONLY place that all 2,500 NXNE delegates can pick up their festival passes, delegate bags and directories.

Avant Garde Remixed
Avant Garde Remixed is one big mash-up of mash-ups. Performed by VJ/DJ Jayve Montgomery, Avant-Garde Remixed is a presentation of several avant-garde films re-edited and re-scored by several different filmmakers. Montgomery compiles all the re-edits into one big visual audio mix, live on stage.

PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.
It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, that is inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation (“chit chat”), it rests on a presentation format based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

The speakers will explore how you can make money from the six legal rights you get the moment you create an original song. These six rights drive the entire music industry – an industry being reshaped by the rapid migration to digital downloads and streaming.
