Meet your head instructor:
| Linda McLean, MEd, CYT, is a singer songwriter and dedicated yoga practitioner. She was introduced to the ancient wisdom tradition of yoga as a teenager. Regular practice helped her maintain strength and balance through a long career as a music and theatre artist and educator. She’s lead singer and songwriter in Linda McLean Band, co- owner and operator of Mandolin Records, has written and recorded and promoted 4 albums of original music. She’s teacher-trained in the Alexander Technique, and integrated and taught this unique body awareness principle while working as a professional actor. She has a Masters of Ed from OISE/UToronto, specializing in Holistic Learning and Arts Education, and was a founding faculty member in Seneca College’s Independent Music Production program, developing courses in ‘Songwriting’ and ‘Artist Development’. She completed her yoga teacher training at YogaSpace in Toronto, and yoga massage at Ahimsa Wellness Centre in Muskoka. Linda’s yoga teaching is based on classical Hatha sadhana, and she leads classes in Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative. She teaches early Saturday morning Vinyasa at Sacred Breath Yoga studio in Muskoka, shares Vinyasa Wednesdays at YogaSpace in Toronto with a few of her yoga teacher friends, and has opened a private studio in Toronto where she works one-on-one with students to help them develop a personal practice and integrate yoga into their lives. For more information about Linda’s yoga teaching visit her website. Also, read her guest post in the Yoga Examiner: A Yogi’s Journey to Find the Heart of Perennial Wisdom. | ![]() |
And your teachers:
Lindsay Stanford
Lindsay was enlightened by the balance and focus that yoga brought to her life from her first time practicing, over 8 years ago. In her true exploratory nature, she enrolled in a teaching program to learn everything should could about yoga. She is a 2007 graduate of the YTT program guided by Cynthia Funk at the Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto. Once a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner, Lindsay turned to Restorative/Therapeutic yoga and meditation to heal after suffering an injury in 2008. She was appreciative and inspired by the healing powers of yoga and has since completed training in Restorative/Therapeutic yoga training with Hali Schwartz. Lindsay is committed to teaching how she practices, with patience for space and growth of the body and the mind and a key understanding that if you open your heart to yourself, the benefits are unmeasurable. She currently teaches privately to students who are healing themselves through their yoga practice.

Elyse
A dedicated Yogini since 2009, Elyse was drawn to Yoga during her undergraduate degree at UWO. The practice and philosophy of Yoga have since became an integral aspect of her daily life. The many insightful teachers she has encountered along her journey have contributed immensely to sparking the love and devotion she feels in her own personal practice. It is a privilege and an honour for Elyse to share the benefits of Yoga with her students. She currently teaches classes in Windsor and is looking forward to sharing the beautiful gifts of Yoga with the NXNE music community. Namaste xo.

Pro-music Production and Tour Manager, Sean has been practicing Yoga since 2001, has trained in Ashtanga Yoga from teachers all over the world and is a registered Yoga Alliance teacher. Between tours with artists like Metric, John Legend and Black Eyed Peas, Sean continues yearly study in India and teaches in his current home of Chelmsford, UK. Sean is in Toronto this month to take on his annual role as Production Manager for NXNEs Music Festival, and has agreed to lead a couple of classes at NXNE Yoga as his schedule allows.
