Mecha Maiko is an experimental synthpop project by Hayley Stewart, based in Toronto. Hailing from the synthwave scene, her songwriting tells cathartic stories from a femin-nine/-ist lens, addressing topics like anthropocentrism set to a playful electropop sound.
In 2022 she released NOT OK, which received a nomination for Electronic Album Of The Year at the 2023 Juno Awards. She is a current member of the electronic group Hyperlink Dream Sync.
