Mavis, emerging in 2018 with a raw collection of demos, quickly evolved. Their 2020 album "Old Stories, New Lies" showcased a lo-fi, earnest sound. Despite inconsistencies, tracks like “Whiskey and Cigarettes” showed potential. Their 2022 single "Love Spells," produced by Steve Rizun, marked a genre-straddling turn. Their latest, the 2024 "Floppy" E.P., continues this evolution, blending so-cal punk and mid-2000s indie rock influences, a stark contrast to their humble beginnings.
